Walking south from Kastraki will lead you to Glyfada Beach.
This beach remains mostly untouched and pristine, with only one organized area offering sunbeds. The serene and quiet atmosphere of Kastraki Beach makes it the perfect place for a secluded beach day. The water is shallow, making it ideal for families, and while it can get a little windy, the wind is gentler compared to nearby Mikri Vigla Beach. The beach has a large parking space and a tavern where visitors can enjoy meals.

This largely underdeveloped beach never gets overcrowded, making it ideal for a peaceful beach day. Glyfada Beach is a popular spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing due to the strong winds & is perfect for kitesurfing enthusiasts. Those who are interested in sunbathing and swimming should check the wind forecast beforehand, as Glyfada can get very windy. The beach is not recommended for beginner kitesurfers or sunbathers on windy days.
10. ALIKO
Aliko Beach is one of the most unique and captivating Naxos beaches, located on the edge of a protected cedar forest. This vast cedar forest is home to various species of flora. It stretches along a coastline with rocky stretches alternating with four sandy beaches, collectively known as Aliko, but more specifically named Aliko Naturist Beach (nudists beach), Hawaii ** Beach, Mikrolímano, and Aliko Forest Beach.
Located at the edge of the densest part of the forest, Aliko Beach is perfect for nature lovers and those seeking a remote, tranquil beach experience, far from the organized beaches of the island. You can reach Aliko Beach by driving or taking a local bus that stops nearby. It is situated about 18 kilometers south of Naxos Town, roughly a half-hour drive.
Its remote location ensures it never gets too busy, even during peak season. The beach has soft sand and turquoise waters, surrounded by dense vegetation, contributing to its tropical ambiance. There are no sunbeds or beach bars at Aliko Beach, maintaining its unspoiled charm.
A picturesque chapel sits at one end of the beach, adding to its scenic beauty. The unique cedar forest declared a protected area, along with the sand dunes, offers a stunning backdrop for exploration. Aliko Beach is an excellent alternative to the busier beaches closer to the island’s center, making it a top destination for those seeking peace and natural beauty on Naxos.
**HAWAI BEACH
Hawaii Beach, our favorite cove among Aliko Beaches, is one of the most stunning beaches that Naxos & its postcards are famous for.
Separated from the rest of the coast by a part of the cedar forest, Hawaii Beach stands out as one of the most remarkable beaches in Naxos. Its beauty is undeniably breathtaking, though it has a tricky access and quickly deepening waters (better avoid bringing young children). My favorite time to visit is in the early afternoon. From this part of the island, you can also walk to the other Aliko areas and the charming chapel.
Hawaii Beach is undeveloped and natural, so come prepared. When visiting, bring water, a packed lunch & sun protection. There are no shops or restaurants in the area. Once you reach the beach, you will be amazed by the stunning crimson shades cliff, which also provides a shelter from the sun. To access Hawaii Beach, you need to climb down the cliff. There are two safe descent points, with the recommended one being on the northern end (to your right when facing the sea). Ensure you wear trainers or sports sandals for a safe descent.
11. PYRGAKI
Pyrgaki Beach is a beautiful and tranquil spot among the other Naxos Beaches, surrounded by white sand hills and cedar trees, creating a picturesque scene. This tranquil beach is ideal for families, thanks to its shallow, calm waters.
Pyrgaki offers sunbeds, and various water sports, making it a versatile destination for relaxation and activity. This remote, golden sand beach comprises small coves, providing a peaceful retreat with soft sand, azure & shallow water and few people around. To reach Pyrgaki Beach, located about a 30-minute drive from Naxos Town, you’ll need to navigate a dirt track road with sandy patches. It’s accessible by car or bus from Naxos Town, and parking is available right by the beach.
Pyrgaki’s beach area is long and wide, featuring a mix of sand and small stones. Despite its remote feel, Pyrgaki Beach provides the comforts of sunbeds and a few dining options. It’s perfect for those seeking peace and quiet, making it a great choice for couples and families alike. Whether you visit in the morning or afternoon, Pyrgaki Beach offers a serene and enjoyable experience for all.
12. PSILI AMMOS
Psili Ammos is a beautiful beach, located on the eastern side of Naxos Island, a few kilometers south of Moutsouna port. The only drawback of finding this beach is the lack of signage. The sign leading to the beach is not very visible from the road.
However, the beautiful natural landscape, crystal-clear waters, and sparse crowds make the effort worthwhile. The shallow, warm waters are ideal for families with young children. If you seek tranquility and an authentic beach experience Psili Ammos will fully satisfy you. The beach now has an organized area with umbrellas and sunbeds, enhancing its appeal.
Psili Ammos offers fine sand, transparent shallow waters, and views towards Koufonisia. It is approximately 45 kilometers (about 1 hour and 15 minutes driving) from Naxos Town. Remember to avoid visiting on very windy days, as the beach is not well-protected from the wind. This beach is perfect for those seeking peace and relaxation, offering a serene and picturesque setting for a memorable day by the sea.
13. PANERMOS
Panermos Beach, situated on the eastern side of Naxos, is in a beautiful and isolated location perfect for those seeking tranquility. This beautiful beach features a few palm trees that provide ample natural shade. The shore starts with some pebbles but quickly transitions to golden sand, and the crystal-clear waters are ideal for swimming.
Panermos Beach is not organized, so you won’t find umbrellas or sunbeds. However, there is parking available just before the beach, and a canteen, Panermos Beach Bar, where you can enjoy refreshments, salads, and souvlaki. Situated about 55 kilometers from Naxos Town (approximately a one-and-a-half-hour drive), Panermos is best visited by those with a rental car.
Its more remote location ensures it remains less crowded than other beaches. The secluded setting, sheltered cove, and pristine waters make Panermos one of the great Naxos beaches, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle.
